Quick, capable, and comfortable, the 2021 Ford Expedition is a full-size SUV that ticks every box. Choose Ford’s famous three-row SUV to combine rugged capabilities with rich everyday comfort and space for up to eight passengers.
What’s new for the 2021 Ford Expedition?
For 2021, there’s a new base model in town, the XL STX. Unlike other Expeditions, which come standard with seven or eight seats, the XL STX is a two-row model, with seating for up to five passengers. Without the third row, this big SUV is ready for adventure, with extra cargo space for your camping supplies and beach gear.
The Co-Pilot360 Assist package is now optional for the mid-grade XLT trim model, adding navigation and adaptive cruise control to the list of standard safety aids. This package remains standard for the Limited model and up.
Why choose the 2021 Ford Expedition?
With three rows of seating and a rugged, body-on-frame chassis, the Expedition is both family-friendly and adventure-ready. Choose this Ford SUV because you’ve got places to see and lots of people to haul.
Compared to other full-size SUVs, the Expedition is powerful and refined, with very impressive towing capabilities. Inside, the roomy cabin is modern and comfortable. Standard comfort features include tri-zone automatic climate control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. The standard infotainment lineup is equally impressive, with an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Most Expedition trim levels add luxury to your daily drive. For example, the Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum models all come standard with leather-trimmed seats. Features like power-adjustable pedals, heated front and second-row seats, and a panoramic glass roof increase style and comfort levels even further.
How does the 2021 Ford Expedition drive?
This Ford SUV is never short on power. All five trim models use the same 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine (375 horsepower, 470 lb-ft of torque), with a more powerful version in the top-trim Platinum model (400 hp, 480 lb-ft).
With standard rear-wheel drive and optional four-wheel drive, the Expedition is a very rugged performer, with lots of off-road potential. To increase your prospects, you can also add the FX4 Off-Road package, which includes all-terrain tires, an off-road-ready suspension, skid plates, and more.
The Expedition is also a boat-friendly SUV, with max tow ratings of up to 9,300 pounds. That’s enough heft for a horse trailer or even a gigantic family camper!
Are Ford Expeditions good SUVs?
Not only does the Expedition deliver modern family comfort and rugged adventure, but it’s also built to last. Take care of your Expedition, and it will return the favor. Each of these full-size SUVs also includes Ford’s extensive warranty coverage, including a powertrain warranty that lasts five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.
