For 2021, the Mustang introduces some new features and lets a few old ones go. In the new category, we have a brand-new, track-focused Mach 1 model, which generates up to 480 horsepower for your drag-racing adventures. And the EcoBoost and GT models now come standard with the Ford Co-Pilot360 package, a collection of safety aids designed to help you stay safe:

• Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking
• Lane Keeping System
• Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert
• Auto High-Beam Headlamps

Unfortunately, there’s no forrest green Mustang Bullitt model available for 2021. And the Level 2 Performance package has also been discontinued.

There are five main versions of the 2021 Mustang: EcoBoost, EcoBoost Premium, GT, GT Premium, and Mach 1.

The EcoBoost and GT are similarly equipped, with a standard roster that’s heavy on tech features. Both include the Ford Track Apps, which allow you to view your performance metrics in real time. And you can access these Mustangs remotely, thanks to the FordPass Connect smartphone app.

Similarly, the EcoBoost Premium and GT Premium models have similar feature rosters. These Mustangs add cutting-edge infotainment, with the SYNC 3 system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. And they enhance your comfort levels with partial (EcoBoost Premium) or full (GT Premium) leather upholstery.

The Mach 1 adds to the regular GT lineup with some Premium features, including the nine-speaker audio system and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The answer to this question depends on trim model, powertrain, and equipment. There are two 2021 Mustang engine options:

• Turbo 2.3L EcoBoost four-cylinder engine (310 horsepower, 350 lb-ft of torque)
• 5.0L Ti-VCT V8 engine (460 hp, 420 lb-ft)

For both engines, a six-speed manual transmission is standard and a 10-speed automatic is optional.

The EcoBoost and EcoBoost Premium models come standard with the base turbo four-cylinder engine. With the High Performance package, you can increase output to 332 horsepower.

Mustang GT and GT Premium models feature the more powerful V8 engine. You can add the GT Performance package for an even sportier performance, with Brembo brakes, a sport-tuned suspension, and TORSEN limited-slip differential.

The Mach 1 model comes with a 480-horsepower version of the GT’s V8 engine. And it also comes standard with lots of performance-enhancing gear, from Brembo brakes to high-performance tires.
